Video Class

We've had a fun time at video class.  If you want to have more classes when I return, make a video; post it to Youtube; and send me the link.

This is a very helpful video.

Root Beer Floats

Remember your homework.  On Tuesday, bring in a science experiment (you've done) that you want to make into a video.

Joe's Video

Tomorrow's Class

Tomorrow we are going to make the same style of science experiment video.  This time we will be seeing how many drops of water can be put on a penny.  If you would like to do a different science experiment, bring in the materials and the paper on how to do it.  We'll have fun tomorrow at 11:00am.

Storyboard

Here is the storyboard for our science experiment we will be filming next week.  Remember to post/email what science experiment you want to do by Sunday.  Joe make sure to wear a plain colored shirt.

Rough Cut

Homework: Watch this video and comment.

Tell me what you like about the filming and editing of this video.  Do you think you can make a similar video using a different science experiment?

Class Time

The class on Thursday will be at 1:00.  Don't forget to bring your homework.

Tuesday's Homework: Due Thursday

Bring in (emailed or on a thumbdrive) 5 pictures to overlay Tim M. saying the Apostle's Creed. You will need them for editing on Thursday. Remember to get pictures that have a high resolution. See the picture below for an example. To save a picture from the internet. Right click on the picture and click on "save target as" or "save image as". Save the file.

Homework Due Monday

Watch the three videos posted (two from Film Institute and one from Videomaker)  Comment on all three videos.  Remember, I expect comments that you can apply right away and that mean something to you.

On Tuesday, be prepared to interview.  Ask your parents if you can stay longer so that we can also begin editing.  Know the three point lighting setup so that you don't have to look at your paper.

Take a look at the website from Lowel Lighting (see previous post).  Be ready to share for one minute about something you learned.

Check Out This Lighting Resource

Look at this lighting resource.  Make sure to click on the different lights: key light, fill light... on the picture of the man to see what each one is doing.

3 Point Lighting

Remember to do your homework from the previous post before coming to class.

Watch this video.  We will be practicing three point lighting tomorrow.

Watch these videos and write a comment on what you learned from them.
Your comments are due prior to Thursday's class.

Our First Class

Good morning.  Our first videography class will begin on Tuesday at 1:00pm at the school.  If you have a digital video camera and/or a macbook that you are allowed to use, please bring them tomorrow.   Also, for the first video we will be making tomorrow, we need 2 backpacks (they can be empty).  I look forward to teaching you tomorrow.

If your parents say it is fine, you can be one of the editors of this blog.  Let me know tomorrow, if you are allowed.

Very soon, this will be you!
